Rind:
Relatively thin compared to pomelo, making it easier to peel but often eaten after cutting.
Taste:
More tart and tangy than a pomelo, with some bitterness. Sweeter varieties, such as ruby red grapefruit, are less bitter.
Cultivation and Origin:
Grapefruit originated in the Caribbean as a natural hybrid between pomelo (Citrus maxima) and sweet orange (Citrus sinensis). It thrives in warm climates.
