Plant Bio
Dracaena sanderiana is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to Central Africa. It was named after the German–English gardener Henry Frederick Conrad Sander. The plant is commonly marketed as “lucky bamboo”; this term has become one of its common names.
A tropical plant, with larger than life leaves. This regal plant makes a statement in any room it is placed in.
Light:
Sanderiana prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions.
Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves.
It’s a good idea to rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth.
Sanderiana thrives in temperatures between 65°F to 90°F (18°C to 32°C).
It is sensitive to cold drafts, so avoid placing it in areas with sudden temperature drops.
In it’s native environment Dracaena sanderiana receive an ample amount of light.
However, the surrounding plants shade the lucky bamboo from direct exposure to the sun. Too much direct sunlight can cause the leaves to burn.
Water: Every 1-2 weeks
Use distilled water or allow tap water to sit for 24 hours to allow chlorine to dissipate before using it for your plant.
Keep the roots submerged in water, changing it every two to four weeks to prevent stagnation.
The more light your plant gets, the more you’ll need to water it.
Similarly, the less light it gets, the less it will need.
Pets: Careful with pets
Dracaena Sanderiana is mildly toxic to pets if ingested, so it’s best to keep it out of reach of curious cats and dogs.
