Plant Care

Light

Lace Aloe thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sunlight. In their native habitat, they often grow in rocky outcrops where they receive dappled sunlight.

Watering

Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Aloe aristata is drought-tolerant and is more likely to suffer from overwatering than underwatering. Water sparingly, especially during the winter months.

Soil

Plant in well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Aloe aristata prefers slightly acidic to neutral soil.

Temperature

This aloe is relatively cold-hardy compared to some other succulents, but it still prefers warmer temperatures. Protect it from frost, especially if grown outdoors.

Humidity

Aloe aristata is adapted to arid conditions and doesn’t require high humidity. It can adapt well to typical indoor humidity levels.

Container Size

Choose a container with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Aloe aristata doesn’t have an extensive root system and typically doesn’t require a large pot.

Fertilization

Feed with a diluted, balanced, liquid fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing during the dormant winter period.

Propagation

Propagate Lace Aloe by removing offsets or pups that form at the base of the plant. Allow the offsets to dry for a day or two before planting them in a new container.

Pests and Diseases

Aloe aristata is generally resistant to pests, but like many succulents, it can be susceptible to root rot if overwatered
